Passing through the site, the River Rother was preventing further development. A new route following the perimeter of the site was agreed with the Environment Agency. Aesthetic and environmental concerns required the immediate ‘grassing-over’ of channel sections.
- New 40m wide main channel for normal flow lined by asphalt-reinforced geomat
- Wider, flanking flood channel for lesser flows lined with geomat only
- 20kg/m2, 20mm thick geomat manufactured off site
- Rapid growth of grass encouraged by placing seed beneath geomat
- 17,000 m2 lined in total
